OMG!!!!! I have been waiting for this day for a LONG time! I've been hinting at a secret project and today is the day I can share it! Back in November I was asked to be a Guest Designer for the PaperArtsy blog, which was a thrill in and of itself... but then it turned into an opportunity to get my beloved hand carved stamps (plus a few new ones!) produced and offered for sale through PaperArtsy's Eclectica Guest Designer series! YAHOOOO!!!
Before we go any farther I just want to say the biggest thank you *ever* to Leandra and Mark (aka Mr. & Mrs. PaperArtsy) for "getting" my abstract art, and seeing some potential in me, and in my hand carved stamps. This is a dream come true on so many levels! THANK YOU!!!
And here they are!!! You'll probably recognize many of the designs as I've been using them in their hand carved version for over a year now... and they truly are my favorites! I sure hope you like them, and if you liked the hand carved stamps, these are an exact match! (I've done the side-by-side comparisons! LOL!)
OMG Leandra just sent this to me.... my stamps and samples at the Stitches Trade Show !!! Hyperventilating!!!
Set #1 (EEV01) - Bold Shapes
Set #2 (EEV02) - Scratchy Shapes
Set #3 (EEV03) - Borders and Textures
and Set #4 (EEV04) - Leaves and Pods
I've been having an absolute *blast* making samples with MY new stamps for the Stitches show. I can't believe they will be on their very own sample board at the biggest trade show in Europe... goosebumps!!!
Here are some of the samples - first up, the abstracts...
All stamps from EEV01-Bold Shapes. Repeat stamping for great patterns, plus some paint pen detail. All on a base coat of fresco finish paints.
Lots of fresco paints, some PaperArtsy Hot Pick stamps, diamond texture stamp from EEV03, and some tissue collage stamping with the rectangle from EEV01.
Fresco finish paints applied with palette knife, stripes from EEV03, striped pod from EEV04, hand painted squares (solid and outlined, with paint pen details.
Fresco finish background - all paint applied with palette knife, bold rectangle stamp from EEV01, paint pen dotty details, and a simple squiggly line to separate the (almost) black paint from the brighter blue section.
Scratchy pod shape from EEV02 - repeat stamped over entire background, then stamped again into tinted Grungepaste, and then stamped again *multiple* times for the layered flower. Circles pod shape from EEV04 used for leaves.
Fresco brayer painted background, scratchy triangle from EEV02 stamped on the edges and the swirly circle (swircle?) from EEV01 stamped in three spots. Paint pen squiggle lines, and red painted dots as accents.
Leaf from EEV04 repeat stamped for vine pattern, diagonal stripes border from EEV03, diamond pattern stamp from EEV03 and scratchy circle from EEV02 in background (they are hard to see, but they're there...)
If you've been following along on the PaperArtsy blog, you'll know that they have been revealing all of their new releases this week, leading up to the big Stitches Trade Show which starts tomorrow. Be sure to go check out all the amazing new things they've got to offer - gorgeous new stamps, new stencils, and some new designer paint colors from Lin Brown and Jo Firth-Young (limited edition so act fast if you want them!).
I will be sharing more samples with full tutorials over the next three days, as they just so happen to be my days on the PA blog as a Guest Designer.... and we didn't even plan it that way (honest!). Seems like it was just meant to be... stop by tomorrow for a sneak peak of my first project, with the full tutorial on the PA blog.
To celebrate my big "debut" I'll be giving away four of my new stamp sets (one of each) - drawing comments from all four days (Saturday, Feb 15 through Tuesday, Feb 18). Leave a comment here on any or all of those days and you'll be entered in the drawings! I'll do the drawing on Saturday, February 22nd and announce the winners here.
I may never sleep again! So excited!!! See you tomorrow!
