I've been searching desperately for my mojo today, and I think it's starting to creep back... Phew!! This week's theme on the Simon Says Stamp & Show blog challenge is all about layers! I was poking around the web today and spent a LOT of time at Dyan Reavely's site - OMG she is just...well... **inspirational**!!! So I "borrowed" some of her techniques, which I think are just brilliant - here's what I came up with!
I started with a blank tag and laid a piece of lace edged paper over top, and spritzed the whole tag with raspberry glimmer mist --- here's a shot of the finished tag next to the lacey template.
Inked the whole tag with spun sugar DI. then stamped a script stamp over the entire background using pumice stone DI. Then cut out 4 layers of tattered florals by TH (double sided scrapbook paper, so lots of options for color combos). Then laid the negative template from the die cut over the tag again, and spritzed with another layer of glimmer mist, this time a shade of orange. Used a fine tip black pen to highlight the floral shapes, and outlined the lace patterns too - LOVE this look!
Used the cap of my glimmer mist to stamp little circles, first in the raspberry glimmer mist, then overstamped in gesso. Polka dots are the end of a paint brush stamped in gesso. Assembled the tattered florals, sprayed AGAIN with glimmer mist, added some wire spirals, and added a DYMO label for "play" - because that's EXACTLY what this tag was all about - playing! Hope you enjoyed playing along - thanks for stopping by!
