Base:  4 15/16" x 6 15/16"

Sale-a-Bration Countdown - 3 Days - Eclectic Expressions with Bubbles & Fizz DSP

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hello!

Only 3 more days!  Welcome back to my Sale-a-Bration Countdown, a series of daily posts, counting down the days to March 31st, when Sale-a-Bration will come to an end.  You can earn one free item from the Sale-a-Bration selections for every $50 you spend.   There are also a few more "substantial" items available with $100 purchase.  If you see an item you are interested in... please do not wait to place a qualifying order... As time runs low, stocks will be running low as well.  These items are only available while supplies last.

Three more days means three Sale-a-Bration items!  Today's card features the Bubbles & Fizz designer series paper, the Tutti Fruitti Card & Envelope set, and the Eclectic Expressions stamp set!  All three items are available for FREE with a $50 purchase.  This card came together so fast with the help of the Banner Triple Punch and some Brights Enamel Shapes.

I cut five banners of varying lengths, all 1" wide, using the Banner Triple punch and added them with dimensionals to the front of a Tutti Fruitti card front.  I added some enamel shapes in matching colors for some texture and dimension on the top layer of banners.

I finished it off with a quick sentiment from the Eclectic Expressions stamp set, layered over another banner that I stamped with the stripe stamp repeatedly for an interesting black and white background banner.

I hope you enjoyed today's project! You can buy products easily through my Stampin' Up! shop, or by clicking on the items below. If your order is less than $150, please use this month's Host Code listed on the sidebar by placing it in the coupon section at check out.

Sale-a-Bration Countdown - 4 Days - Beautiful Peacock Card

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hello!

Today's feature is the Beautiful Peacock stamp set, FREE with any $50 purchase!  The scroll-y leaf-y swirl-y (there must be a technical name) is the *perfect* stamp for an easy background.  I used Berry Burst ink to stamp said swirly stamp multiple times on a panel of Whisper White card stock, then added one of the small flowers in Lemon Lime Twist.

Then I stamped the peacock in Tranquil Tide ink and added the leaf stamp in Lemon Lime Twist and flowers in Berry Burst (the opposite of the background for instant coordinating contrast).

The sentiment was stamped with the same two ink colors and popped up twice with dimensionals using silver foil paper and berry burst paper.  The punches are 1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" scallop, and 1 1/2" circle.  Then I double matted the peacock panel (and added some Lemon Lime Twist Striped Ribbon) and the swirly panel to finish this quick and easy card.

I hope you enjoyed today's project! You can buy products easily through my Stampin' Up! shop, or by clicking on the items below. If your order is less than $150, please use this month's Host Code listed on the sidebar by placing it in the coupon section at check out.

Sale-a-Bration Countdown - 5 Days - Amazing You & Celebrate You Card

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hello!

Sale-a-Bration is in the home stretch!

I'm happy to be back today to share another card and this is one of my real favorites!  I'm featuring the Amazing You stamp set (FREE with $50 purchase)  and the Celebrate You word dies (FREE with $100 purchase).  These two items go *perfectly* together and could be used a card for almost any occasion!

I started with a panel of Whisper White card stock cut to 3 1/4" x 4", and stamped the flower/leaf stamp in Pool Party ink repeatedly on the whole panel.

Then I stamped the same image in Memento black ink, colored it with the Pool Party Stampin' Blends alcohol markers (sadly on back order at the moment),  used my Paper Snips to fussy cut just the flower, added a glitter enamel dot in the center, and added it over a flower on the background with some dimensionals.

Then I used my Big Shot to die cut the words "YOU" and "amazing" from Tranquil Tide card stock.  I die cut each word 2 times and stacked them together with Fine Tip adhesive, and added a generous layer of Wink of Stella glitter brush on the top layer.

I stamped the "are simply" in Tranquil Tide ink and punched it out using the Classic Label punch, with another punched out of Tranquil Tide card stock and layered underneath.  I matted the whole white panel on Tranquil Tide card stock and then mounted that over a panel of designer series paper from the Whole Lot of Lovely collection.

I hope you enjoyed today's project! You can buy products easily through my Stampin' Up! shop, or by clicking on the items below. If your order is less than $150, please use this month's Host Code listed on the sidebar by placing it in the coupon section at check out.

Sale-a-Bration Countdown - 6 Days - Heartfelt Blooms Card

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hello!

Sale-a-Bration is in the home stretch!

Today I'm featuring the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set, which is FREE with $50 purchase.  I stamped the bloom in the background multiple times using Sahara Sand Ink on Sahara Sand card stock for a tone-on-tone look.  I love this subtle but beautiful background.

Today's card was an experiment.  I wanted to use my ink daubers to color different sections of the bloom and use my stamp positioning tool to stamp multiple times in the same location to get a multiple colored image.  It did work, but next time I'm going to try stamping the image in a very pale neutral ink (sahara sand or smoky slate) and use watercolor pencils very lightly for subtle color.   I'll let you know how it goes!

I hope you enjoyed today's project! You can buy products easily through my Stampin' Up! shop, or by clicking on the items below. If your order is less than $150, please use this month's Host Code listed on the sidebar by placing it in the coupon section at check out.

3D Thursday - Altered Cigar Box for Stampin' Blends Markers

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hello!

I'm taking a little break from my Sale-a-Bration countdown for 3D Thursday.  You may have noticed I've been building a little collection of small storage containers using the Petal Passion designer series paper.  Today I'm sharing an altered cigar box I made to store my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers... isn't it cute?

I started by painting all of the edges of the cigar box, on both the outside and the inside of the box.  Any black acrylic paint will work.

Then it was simple to measure each panel of the box and cut the Petal Passion designer series paper to 1/2" smaller in both length and width so there would be a nice black border on all sides.

I used Tear & Tape for adhesive since it is super strong and will hold up to the wear and tear this box will get - since I'm using my Stampin' Blends more and more lately!

Here's the inside... the current full collection of Stampin' Blend markers fits perfectly, but I'm secretly hoping that I will need to find a bigger storage solution when the new catalog arrives!  I really hope that Stampin' Up will add to the collection with ALL of the colors... fingers crossed!

Today it's all about the Party Pandas... and since we're "partying" with the pandas, it's a perfect fit to use the Sweet Soiree (since a soiree is a party!) Memories & More Card Pack and the Sweet Soiree designer series paper.

Seriously, this card was soooo easy... I stamped the Panda and the "love you" in basic black ink on one of the cards from Memories & more pack, layered it on some calypso coral card stock, and layered that panel over some designer series paper.  I colored the heart with my red marker and added some glitter enamel dots.  Voila!  Super quick and super cute!

Today I'm featuring the Happy Wishes stamp set, which is available for FREE with $100 purchase.  This stamp set is a *whopper* - it comes with two sets and offers the flexibility to build dozens of sentiments, all built around the focal words of "best" and "happy".  You'll use this one for any occasion!  As I did yesterday, I paired these stamps with the Sweet Soiree Memories & More Card Pack, which is available for FREE with $50 purchase.

This card came together super quick... all I did was stamp the "best" and "wishes in Rich Razzleberry ink on some whisper white card stock, and then chose coordinating papers from the Card Pack to match!  I mounted that smaller panel on top of a pattern from the Sweet Soiree Designer Series Paper collection.

I "fussy cut" the floral arrangement from one of the Cards - I think it makes a lovely accent to this simple, elegant card.

Don't forget... if you join Stampin' Up! during Sale-a-Bration, not only will you get to pick out $125 worth of products from the annual and spring catalogs, but you will also get to select TWO additional stamp sets at no additional cost.  You will only pay $99, and get FREE shipping!  If you are interested in building a collection of Stampin' Up! supplies, now is the perfect time to join and save 20% on all your purchases!  Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in joining my team or have any questions.

Sale-a-Bration Countdown - 13 Days - Lots of Lavender Card

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hello!

OMG I can't believe Sale-a-Bration is almost over!  Stampin' Up! has really hit a home run with this year's selections, and they just kept adding more amazing things to earn for FREE!  You can earn one free item from the Sale-a-Bration selections for every $50 you spend.   There are also a few more "substantial" items available with $100 purchase.

Since we are in the home stretch, I wanted to do a series of daily posts, counting down the days to March 31st, when Sale-a-Bration will come to an end.  If you see an item you are interested in... please do not wait to place a qualifying order... As time runs low, stocks will be running low as well.  These items are only available while supplies last.

One of the best discoveries I found in the first Sale-a-Bration catalog was the Sweet Soiree Memories & More Card Pack (FREE with $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration).  It comes with 72 (!!!) cards in total, in two different sizes.  These cards are the perfect short-cut to quick and beautiful cards!  I'll be featuring this card pack in four projects this week.

Today I'm featuring the Sweet Soiree Memories & More Card Pack with the Lots of Lavender stamp set (FREE with $50 purchase).  I'm sucker for any flower stamp, and lavender is one of my favorite perennial flowers, so this was one of my first picks!

I started by stamping the lavender bouquet stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black ink,  which will not bleed with alcohol markers.  Then I used my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to color in the lavender buds, leaves, and the bow.  I used the light and dark shades of rich razzleberry, old olive, and pink pirouette.

Then I punched out some white card stock with the Tailored Tag Punch and used the "Thinking of You" stamp from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set (also FREE during Sale-a-Bration with $50 purchase).  I used Rich Razzleberry ink for the sentiment, and Old Olive ink for the leaves, which are part of the Lots of Lavender stamp set.

I matted the lavender on Sweet Sugarplum and Black card stock, and added that panel, and the sentiment over one of the cards from the Sweet Soiree Memories & More Card Pack.  A few Glitter Enamel Dots were the perfect finishing touch!

I hope you enjoyed today's project! You can buy products easily through my Stampin' Up! shop, or by clicking on the items below. If your order is less than $150, please use this month's Host Code listed on the sidebar by placing it in the coupon section at check out.

Friend Card with Matching Gift Box - Part 2

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hello and welcome back,

Yesterday I shared a card I made using the Orange Blossom stamp set with the Painted With Love designer series paper.  Today we're going to make a gift box to match that will hold 6 votive candles.  A lovely gift for a friend or other loved one.

Start with a piece of designer series paper, cut to 11" x 11 1/2".

On the long side (11 1/2" at the top) score at: 1/2", 3 5/8", 7 7/8", 10"

On the short side (11" at the top) score at:  2 1/8", 5", 7 1/8", 10

Fold and burnish all score lines with your bone folder.

Follow directions in the video to form the box and decorate with the Orange Blossom stamp set, the Pretty Label punch, and some shimmer ribbon.

Friend Card with Matching Gift Box - Part 1

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hello!

I am blessed to have some amazing friends in my life, and sometimes it's nice to share some love and appreciation for them with a little gift - not for a birthday or other special event - but just because they are a great friend.  I created a card with matching gift box that holds 6 votive candles which would be great for such a "just because" gift.  Today I'll share the card with you, and tomorrow I'll have a video showing you how to make the box.

Today's card has some background stamping with the Orange Blossom stamp set, using Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral inks, along with three layered, dimensional panels of the Painted With Love designer series paper, and a simple "Hey, Friend" greeting (also from the Orange Blossom set).  It's a very simple design that has a big impact by letting the gorgeous paper shine (literally! with the gold foil accents!).

I scattered a few basic pearls around the card for an elegant accent, and stamped another greeting on the inside of the card, along with some stamping in each corner to match the background stamps I used on the front of the card.

Tomorrow I'll be back with a video to show you how to make the matching box.

I matted all of the panels on Calypso Coral card stock and mounted the whole thing on some Whisper White thick card stock as the card base.

Party Pandas Customer Thank You Cards

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hey there and Happy Monday!

In February, I hosted my first workshop in the studio at my house, so I wanted to make some cards to thank everyone for coming, and these pandas were just too cute!

I used the Tutti-Fruitti Card and Envelope set with the Party Pandas stamp set.  Both of these items are available for FREE with a qualifying purchase prior to March 31, 2018.  The card and envelope set comes with 16 A2 card bases that coordinate with the Tutti-Fruitti designer series paper stack, and 16 envelopes in matching patterns.

All I had to do was select some designer series papers to match the card fronts and stamp the Panda in black archival ink, and the speech bubble in a matching shade of ink.  I added some of the Tutti-Fruitti adhesive backed sequins for some "bling".  Super easy and super cute!

If you place an order for $50 or more before March 31 2018, you can choose the Party Pandas stamp set OR the Tutti-Fruitti Card and Envelope Set for FREE!

I hope you enjoyed today's project! You can buy products easily through my Stampin' Up! shop, or by clicking on the items below. If your order is less than $150, please use this month's Host Code listed on the sidebar by placing it in the coupon section at check out.

Basket Weave Easter Card

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hello!

Easter will be here before we can blink, so now is the perfect time to get started on some Easter cards for the special people in your life.  Today I'm using the new Blossoming Basket Bundle from the Sale-a-Bration catalog, which you can earn for FREE with a $100 purchase between now and March 31, 2018.

I'm also participating in a big Easter Blog Hop with the Remarkable Stampers Team.  There is a list of all the participants at the bottom of the post - be sure to check out all the inspiring projects!

The bundle comes with the Basket Weave Dynamic Texture embossing folder, and the Blossoming Basket stamp set - a perfect duo!  I decided to alter the basket image, which has flowers in it, so it would hold Easter eggs.  I just trimmed around the rim of the basket, and cut the handle off so I could re-attach it behind the eggs.  A totally new look with just a few scissor snips!

I colored the basket with my aqua brush and two shades of brown ink.  The eggs were die cut with the smallest of the Layering Oval Framelits.  I added some leafy sprigs (with some wink of stella glitter brush on top) and background stamping on the eggs from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp and die bundle, and some iridescent sequins.  The Happy Easter greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, which is a *must have* for every new stamper - it covers practically every occasion you could imagine!

For more inspiration, please visit all the designers in today's blog hop!

I hope you enjoyed today's project! You can buy products easily through my Stampin' Up! shop, or by clicking on the items below. If your order is less than $150, please use this month's Host Code listed on the sidebar by placing it in the coupon section at check out.

3D Thursday: Up-Cycled Petal Passion Spinning Tool Caddy

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Back in my mixed media days, I up-cycled a set of aluminum cans to hold markers and other tools, so I thought it was time to do another set in the Stampin' Up! style!

I keep a storage bin full of used (and washed) aluminum cans for various projects, and I was able to find 8 cans in the same size - Del Monte canned vegetable size, if you want to do same as mine.

I chose the Petal Passion designer series paper because I simply LOVE black and white patterns - I selected 4 patterns mostly white and 4 patterns mostly black so I could alternate black and white in the spinner rack.

I cut 8 strips of the DSP to the height of the can and added a strip of tear and tape adhesive to each end. I stuck the first end on the seam of the can (it's a great reference to make sure you start out straight!).  Wrapped the paper around the can, overlapped the starting point and pressed the other end down. It doesn't get much easier than that!

I added my collection to an InterDesign Lazy Susan Spinner and voila!  Finished project!

I hope you enjoyed today's project! You can buy products easily through my Stampin' Up! shop, or by clicking on the items below. If your order is less than $150, please use this month's Host Code listed on the sidebar by placing it in the coupon section at check out.

Epic Celebration Sneakers Cards

Stampin' Up! ® Independent Demonstrator Ellen Vargo

Hello friends,

The Epic Celebrations stamp set didn't catch my eye right away, but once I tried coloring in these sneakers with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers I loved it so much I made three cards!  OMG - totally adorable right?!

I stamped the sneakers image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Whisper White Thick card stock and chose a light and dark shade of the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.  I used the lighter shade first over the whole image and then used the darker shade on the edges and shadowed areas, then came back with the lighter shade to blend them together a bit.

I added some polka dot / striped accents on the 'tongue' of the shoe with the fine tip of the black marker, and then used my Blender Pen with Versamark ink to color in the white sole of the shoes, and added a layer of clear embossing powder to give the soles some shine - (this made me much happier than it should have) - simple pleasures!

I used the Bubbles & Fizz designer series paper for the blue/green cards, and Whole Lot of Lovely / Petal Passion DSP for the pink card.
